The Feature Producer
The production company carrying a picture through the whole chain — shoot, post, print, and distribution under one slate.
FILMGUNNER runs its picture business the way a lab runs a bath — every shot slated, every cut logged, every print struck before the reel leaves the rack.
FILMGUNNER FILMLAB, L.L.C. is a Utah limited liability company headquartered at 1384 S 1000 E, Salt Lake City — the east-bench film-trade corridor where the mountains provide the exteriors and the stage provides the rest.
The firm runs five reels on one rack: production — features, television, commercials, music videos, and animation; distribution — agencies, syndication, and stock libraries; exhibition — indoor theaters, drive-ins, festivals, and itinerant shows; postproduction — edit, dub, title, caption, and transfer; and film laboratory — processing, restoration, preservation, and theatrical print reproduction.
Picture work is a chain. A negative has a bath. A cut has a count. A print has a screen. The reels stay distinct because the stock demands it — but every frame answers to the same lab rules: slated and logged, processed on time, cut in context, honest about what the reel holds.
Five different reels, one operating standard — the rules printed on the head of every leader.
Every shot carries its slate — scene, take, roll, and camera logged at the moment it's exposed. An unslated frame is an orphan frame, and orphans don't make the cut.
Film runs the bath on schedule — negatives to the lab same-day, dailies back on the shelf before the next call. A delayed process is a spoiled roll.
The edit answers to the script and the client — cuts logged against takes, versions numbered, nothing shipped without a leader and an out-point.
The lab declares what it holds. If a project isn't one the house can finish — shoot, cut, or print — it isn't taken into the bath. A rack that overstates itself fools a client once.
The production company carrying a picture through the whole chain — shoot, post, print, and distribution under one slate.
The agency or brand needing a spot — shoot, cut, and delivery on a broadcast or digital schedule.
The library or holder restoring aged stock — preservation, digitization, and prints for future screens.
"Five reels, one slate. The client shouldn't have to ask what's on the rack — the leader should already say it."
